Anatolia Istanbul
The Asian side offers a variety of activities for those who are looking to experience Istanbul to its full potential. In Usküdar there is an abundance of historical imperial residences such as the Beylerbeyi Palace, religious sites like Camlica Mosque, or colorful Instagrammable locations such as Kuzguncuk with its old wooden houses, bistros and a variety of cafés.
You can also visit Kadikoy where you can tour The Haydarpasa Train Station, or take the tram to Moda, the neighborhood loved by artists and youth. If you are looking for places to shop in, Bagdat Avenue has international and local brands. Many choose to visit Prince Islands as it offers great scenery and unmatched locations for an afternoon picnic.
Travel Options: Private Transportation options and public transportation options such as Bus, Metrobus, and ‘’Dolmus’’ will utilize the bridge in crossing to the Asian side. Alternatively, you can cross by ferries or you can choose to take advantage of the metro line. All options are in close proximity of the hotel.
Recommended Visit Hours: If you are using private transportation, avoid crossing the bridge in the rush hours, which are early mornings between 08:00 and 09:00 and early evenings between 17:30 and 19:30 as there might be traffic during these times.
Recommended Span of Visit: It is best to spare at least a day to the Anatolian side of Istanbul as there are many activities one can fulfill. If possible, try to arrange a separate day just for the Prince Islands.
Tips and Things to Know Before You Visit: Many tourist attractions have a bit more distance in between them in the Asian side, it might be a good idea to arrange private transportation. If you are planning on crossing the Bosphorus or going to the Prince Islands on a ferry, make sure to check time tables as they might differ depending on seasons and the days of the week.
